Lovely Memories

We've spent a lot of time this summer just laying around the house or playing outside. Scott and I have never been fond of big vacations, even when we were little. I remember begging my parents to let me stay at the hotel and miss a morning of sightseeing during one vacation to the grand canyon. (They planned to ride a burrow down into the Grand Canyon, I had no idea what a burrow was and was slightly scared.) Some of my best summer memories are of reading books, watching movies and laying out in the sun (while reading a book).

So, the following is a summary of our inside adventures.

Somehow the twins still take two naps a day, this still baffles me. They are almost 18 months old, sleep for 11-12 hours at night, then take two naps for at least two hours each. Keller normally takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. We let him play quietly in his room and then eventually make him get in bed, sometimes he plays with a small toy, and falls asleep.

Scarlett played dress up for the first time last weekend. I was going through her hand me downs for fall to see if there were any gaps to fill, and stumbled across 3-4 pairs to which she exclaimed "Shoes!" So we tried on some shoes and I handed her a purse (then she tried to stuff it with a car). Then I let her play with my make up brushes, I tried to explain to put them on her face, she kept thinking they should go on her hair.

Victor finally got a hold of Scarlett's purse. Apparently it makes a good chew toy.

That's what we've been up to this summer, thanks for checking in!

I love the dress up picture of Scarlett!!!! And, that she immediately put a car in the purse -- Ayla's chew toy of choice these days is a car :)

I'm really jealous of the fact that your kids sleep 12 hrs at night and still take long naps :)
