Here are our stairs!!!! 12 stair treads, 5 box newel posts, 8 feet of bull nose, and 16 feet of hand rail, all natural Hickory. I know more now about steps than I ever wanted to know. The top two steps are not on yet, so thats rough pine board you're looking at in the picture from the top of the steps.
Beautiful steps with beautiful hand rail and spindles. Some might say the spindles are too close together, not me I completely agree with Scott. (Something I'm forever grateful for, we have agreed on 95 to 99% of all the decisions we've had to make for this house)
Scott worked very hard to measure out all the little holes that had to be drilled for all those spindles.
This is the tile in our bathroom. The green paint on the wall reminds me of the 60s, its like a light lime green. Then I decided to use black, white and grey accent tile with my white subway tile. Now the whole bathroom looks very retro to me and I'm already thinking about repainting. I'll cover the green with grey, possibly.
This is the kids bathroom and an example of Scott being right and one decision we did not agree on, but I did agree to let him have his way. I wanted the accent tile like it was in our bathroom, he liked it at the very bottom, I thought it would look dumb, I was very wrong.
Yesterday it was finally not raining and about 60 degrees so we ventured outside. Victor work up early from his nap so we played on the porch and walked to the new house. I'm trying to work on steps with Victor. I do not want to lug his 26lbs up and down steps in the new house.
I've cut the kid's wardrobe down so I could pack as much as possible. So when we didn't have any clean pants and Keller had his first night time accident (b/c Mommy didn't make him go to the bathroom before bed!) he had to wear shorts. He hasn't worn shorts since probably September, and you would have thought it was a totally new concept. He kept asking for his pants back, but they were wet, so for the morning he ran around in shorts and his flannel pj top, then he stripped off the flannel top and put on his house shoes. Shorts and house shoes, but then we went outside and I insisted upon a shirt and explained that house shoes could not, under any circumstances, be worn outside. He then pulled his boots on. I don't care what he wears if he puts it on himself, I know he's gone to my parents house with underwear on inside out, but he did it 'all by myself'.
Lately I've been letting Victor and Scarlett on the couch, which they love, and so do I as long as Keller doesn't get too excited.
I thought they looked cute playing together.I'm slowly hauling boxes out to the new house, one day we'll decide to move in, but there are some little things left to be finished. Mainly my dishwasher in my kitchen, kids vanity, handrail, master bath, laundry room ceiling and a few more pieces of molding and we're finished.
Thanks for checking in!
